ORBCOMM is hiring a Satellite Engineer to support the health, performance, and continuous improvement of its owner-operated LEO satellite network and next-generation IoT services. The role involves satellite and ground operations, data analysis, scripting, troubleshooting, network monitoring, earth station calibrations, and technical documentation. It is a full-time, on-site position in Sterling, Virginia, with a rotating second-level on-call schedule and an anticipated starting salary of $80,000 to $100,000 USD.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Required Previous Experiences: 2–5 years of experience in satellite operations, systems engineering, or a related field
Hands-on experience with RF systems, ground station equipment, or satellite payload operations
Experience with network monitoring tools or traffic analysis platforms
Preferred Qualifications: Basic proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting or programming technologies
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to work independently and participate in the required on-call rotation
Strong written communication and technical documentation skills
