Description

Amazon is hiring a Satellite Systems Engineer to own complex space-segment architecture and integration challenges for government and international customers. The role covers concept development, trade studies, requirements analysis and allocation, interface definition, verification and validation, integration and test support, anomaly resolution, risk management, configuration management, and systems optimization. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, and have a STEM bachelor's degree plus extensive space systems engineering and satellite design experience. The position is based in El Segundo or Northridge, California, with a base salary of $129,200 to $174,800 annually.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of experience in space systems engineering, including performance budgets, requirements analysis, design verification, configuration management, and satellite integration and test
4+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, spacecraft design, or a related field, including hands-on satellite design and integration
4+ years of experience deriving and maintaining requirements from system level down to lower levels
Hands-on experience with spacecraft integration, flatsat testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or mission operations
4+ years of experience using standard electronic laboratory test equipment
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in engineering, physics, aerospace, or a similar field, or equivalent experience
Experience participating in software-to-hardware integration and test activities
Experience performing technical data analysis and maintaining systems configurations
Experience optimizing satellite systems or system architecture
Experience resolving cross-functional technical issues
Experience developing and improving systems engineering processes
