Description
The School Crossing Guard holds a hand-held STOP sign until children safely cross the street, reports unsafe incidents, records vehicles that disregard the crossing guard, and assists lost or injured students. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, effective communication, independent work, sound judgment, knowledge of traffic control and pedestrian-crossing regulations, and the ability to work outdoors in inclement weather. Previous experience with children or the public is preferred. The position pays $13.73 per hour, pays four hours per day when school is in session, and includes sick days, paid holidays, biweekly pay, and pre-employment training.
