IRB Barcelona is hiring one Scientific Computing Officer to support the operation and evolution of its High-Performance Computing infrastructure. The role involves maintaining Linux-based scientific computing environments, installing and configuring scientific software, compiling and adapting applications to hardware, diagnosing performance and resource issues, supporting CPU, GPU and heterogeneous workloads, and assisting researchers with compute resources and job configurations. Candidates need basic programming or scripting skills, Linux knowledge, scientific computing familiarity, troubleshooting ability, and willingness to learn HPC architectures, compilers, GPUs and parallel computing. The position is a permanent full-time contract in Barcelona with visa assistance and relocation support.
