Applied Research Associates, Inc. is hiring a Scientific Computing Software Developer in Alexandria, Virginia, to refactor legacy Fortran codebases into modern Rust, develop simulation-setup and analysis tools, and support high-fidelity weapons-effects modeling and analysis. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least five years of experience, strong programming skills in Rust and at least one of Fortran, C, or C++, finite-element or finite-volume coding experience, Windows and Linux software development experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Compensation is $100,000 to $130,000 per year.
