Scientist, Peptide Chemistry at Calico

Calico is hiring a Peptide Chemistry Scientist to lead peptide drug discovery campaigns from initial hit identification through IND-enabling studies. The role combines empirical medicinal chemistry with Calico’s machine-learning peptide design platform, focusing on structure-activity relationships, automated synthesis, purification, characterization, assay development, and optimization of therapeutic peptides. The scientist will collaborate across biology, software, automation, assay, pharmacology, and external CRO teams, mentor junior scientists, and manage external collaborations. The position requires a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, peptide chemistry, or a related discipline, 0–2 years of industry drug-discovery experience, and onsite work five days per week.
