Description

The AWS Security Hub team is hiring a Security Engineer to research emerging threats, develop criticality and posture-management concepts, build high-confidence markers and rules, correlate detections across large-scale data sources, and improve threat-analysis pipelines using machine learning and generative AI. The role requires programming and scripting experience, cloud and security knowledge, and collaboration with engineering and product teams. It is based in Boston or Seattle, with a base salary of 159,300 to 202,400 USD annually and comprehensive benefits.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Required Previous Experiences: 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or a similar object-oriented language
2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review experience in a common programming language
2+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks with command-line tools
2+ years of non-academic experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with machine learning and large language model fundamentals, including architecture, training and inference lifecycles, and model optimization
Experience using AI to automate security assessment workflows, implement LLMs, and perform agentic threat detection and remediation
Experience with AI-driven development and verification
Experience with AWS products and services
Experience performing security activities across software development lifecycle phases, including design review, threat modeling, secure code review, and security testing
