Description
OpenAI is hiring a Security Engineer for its First-Party Hardware team to own the end-to-end security foundation for AI hardware systems. The role covers hardware, embedded, system, and deployment security across boot integrity, device identity, provisioning, attestation, management-plane security, storage encryption, firmware updates, recovery, RMA, and decommissioning. The engineer will translate threat models into requirements, validate security-critical behavior, partner with hardware and manufacturing teams, and drive incident response. The position is based in San Francisco, California, with a hybrid arrangement requiring three days per week onsite.
