Description

Vultr is hiring a Security Engineer for its first Global Integrated Operations Command Center in Chennai. The role monitors SIEM, authentication, access, threat-intelligence, and endpoint alerts; triages and classifies incidents; executes first-line containment and evidence preservation; escalates out-of-scope alerts; and maintains incident documentation and shift handovers. It is an entry-level security operations position requiring 3–5 years of SOC, security operations, or IT operations experience, a relevant engineering or graduate qualification, and willingness to work a rotational 24x7 schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Graduate or engineering qualification in a relevant field, such as B.E. or B.Tech, or equivalent
Required Previous Experiences: 3–5 years of experience in a SOC, security operations, or IT operations role, including hands-on security monitoring and alert triage
Prior experience in a 24x7 SOC or command-center environment with JIRA, Confluence, PagerDuty, SIEM, and observability platforms
Preferred Qualifications: ITIL V4 Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM knowledge
Security certification such as CompTIA Security+ or CySA+
Scripting familiarity with Bash, Python, or PowerShell for routine automation
Exposure to cloud security and GPU or high-density infrastructure
Prior experience in a 24x7 SOC or command-center environment with JIRA, Confluence, PagerDuty, SIEM, and observability platforms
