Description
OpenAI is hiring a Security Software Engineer to design and implement security-critical software and firmware for HSMs, secure elements, trusted execution environments, and hardware roots of trust. The role focuses on hardening the policy-to-HSM boundary, developing cryptographic interfaces and trusted applications, enforcing key-management and signing policies, building certificate and device-identity systems, and supporting secure boot, attestation, provisioning, and authentication. The engineer will write, review, test, and audit secure embedded software, develop security validation tooling, threat-model trust boundaries, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, infrastructure, application, and security teams.
