Description

Box is hiring a Senior Engineer, AI and Automation to own and advance the company's enterprise AI, custom-application, and automation ecosystem. The role involves architecting and operating AI-enabled solutions, custom applications, integrations, and automations; administering enterprise AI platforms; evaluating AI capabilities for security, privacy, reliability, and compliance; maintaining PHP/Laravel applications; building services with Python, PHP, Go, and APIs; automating corporate IT processes; establishing engineering standards; and participating in on-call rotation. The position requires a relevant technical degree or equivalent practical experience plus at least six years of software, automation, or IT platform engineering experience, and requires working from an assigned office at least three days per week.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 6+ years of software, automation, or IT platform engineering experience
Hands-on experience building web applications, APIs, integrations, and automations
Experience administering or supporting enterprise AI platforms
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth/OIDC, SaaS integration, identity lifecycle management, access controls, and secure application practices
Strong technical judgment, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills in a geographically distributed environment
Experience administering or supporting enterprise AI platforms such as Gemini Enterprise, Claude, OpenAI, or Microsoft Copilot, including AI governance, safe-use guidance, and evaluation
