Maincode is hiring a full-time, permanent Senior AI Engineer to work with Victorian Justice and Emergency Services customers in Melbourne. The role embeds with customer teams, translates loosely defined requirements into technical plans, and designs, fine-tunes, evaluates, deploys, and hardens AI systems on the Matilda stack in on-premises, air-gapped, and classified environments. Responsibilities include data pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation, MLOps, security hardening, architecture documentation, and customer-facing technical communication, while feeding customer insights back to the model-training team. Applicants must hold an active AGSVA NV1 or higher security clearance, undergo Victoria Police organizational suitability vetting, and be Australian citizens.
