Description

MANTECH is hiring a Senior AI ML Engineer for a hybrid, full-time position in Ashburn, Virginia, with two to three days onsite. The role leads the integration and deployment of AI/ML and LLM solutions into production environments, including MLOps pipelines, model training and inference, scalable feature stores, CI/CD workflows, and operational monitoring. Candidates must have substantial experience with LLMs, transformer architectures, vector databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and production systems, along with the required U.S. citizenship, CBP suitability, and Top-Secret clearance. The projected compensation range is $116,400.00-$194,900.00, with health insurance and other benefits available.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED with 15–20 years of experience, or associate degree with 13–18 years, or bachelor's degree with 7+ years, or master's degree with 5+ years, or doctorate with 3+ years.
Required Previous Experiences: Hands-on experience with LLMs
Experience with LLM application frameworks
Experience deploying machine learning or LLM services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience designing and deploying LLM solutions, including RAG, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and semantic retrieval
Experience evaluating LLM applications for accuracy, relevance, hallucination, safety, latency, and cost
Experience with vector databases or search technologies
Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices
Working knowledge of SQL and relational, document, or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and production incident troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or a related discipline
Experience training, fine-tuning, quantizing, or serving open-source LLMs using PyTorch, Ollama, or TensorRT-LLM
Understanding of AI security risks, including prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe tool execution, model abuse, and adversarial inputs
Experience building multi-agent systems, multimodal applications, long-context workflows, or human-in-the-loop AI systems
Knowledge of advanced retrieval techniques, including hybrid search, reranking, query expansion, metadata filtering, and retrieval evaluation
Experience in LLM projects from initial requirements and proof of concept through production deployment and ongoing optimization
Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, system design, and technical documentation
