TEGNA is hiring a Senior Android Developer for a hybrid role in Knoxville, Tennessee. The position leads the evolution of a shared native Android news platform, building features in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, owning complex code areas, improving performance and architecture, mentoring developers, and supporting CI/CD and release processes. Candidates need at least five years of professional software development experience, including three years building native Android applications with Kotlin, along with experience in modern Android UI, architecture patterns, Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, dependency injection, REST APIs, JSON, local persistence, Git, and scalable application design.
