Description
Helion is hiring a Senior Applied Plasma Data Scientist specializing in synthetic diagnostics to develop and validate machine-learning models that connect experimental diagnostic signals with FRC plasma simulations. The role focuses on physics-grounded methods such as differentiable physics, PINNs, surrogate modeling, and hybrid physics-plus-ML systems, integrating them with simulation and experimental pipelines, and supporting analysis of magnetic diffusion, circuit response, and diagnostic measurements. The position reports to the Experimental Science Manager at Helion’s Everett, Washington office and requires a relevant PhD and at least three years of industry or research-lab experience.
