Amazon is hiring a Senior Quantum Applied Scientist for its Device team at the Amazon Center for Quantum Computing in Pasadena, California. The role focuses on designing and measuring novel superconducting qubits, developing simulations, improving models to match experimental results, and translating findings into guidance for engineering teams. The position requires expertise in superconducting circuit physics and microwave engineering, a demonstrated record of original quantum research, scientific programming proficiency, and a PhD or equivalent degree with at least five years of related experience. Preferred qualifications include superconducting qubit operations, bosonic or protected qubits, quantum error correction, fabrication, and cryogenic or RF measurement experience. The base salary is 167,100 to 226,100 USD annually, with sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
