FreeBalance is seeking a Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer to redesign their AWS environment. This role involves leading the design and implementation of a secure, scalable, multi-account AWS architecture, enabling cost chargeback, and establishing long-term operational best practices. The engineer will focus on infrastructure first, requiring strong operating system, networking, and security fundamentals, along with deep AWS experience. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing multi-account AWS architecture using AWS Organizations and Control Tower, defining account strategies, establishing an AWS Landing Zone aligned with security and compliance, reducing operational and security risks, planning and executing phased migrations, codifying infrastructure using Terraform, automating guardrails, supporting infrastructure as code via CI/CD pipelines, enforcing security guardrails, managing centralized security services like CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and AWS Config, supporting compliance and audit requirements, designing and operating AWS networking at scale including VPC design and segmentation, applying TCP/IP, DNS, and routing fundamentals, implementing cost monitoring, budgeting, and reporting using AWS Cost Explorer and Budgets, enabling cost separation and chargeback, and applying Linux and/or Windows systems engineering knowledge for OS-level hardening, patching, access control, and troubleshooting.
