Amazon Web Services is hiring a Senior Backbone Network Developer for its Americas Backbone Network Development organization to develop and scale the company’s internal cloud infrastructure network. The role leads strategic backbone network planning, identifies suppliers and commercial solutions for wavelengths, dark fiber, and submarine cable capacity, coordinates vendors and internal teams, develops network topologies, manages supplier relationships, and balances technical constraints with business needs. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 6+ years of IT experience, 10+ years of telecommunications experience, supplier-management experience, financial modeling ability, and procurement and negotiation experience. The position is available in Denver, Atlanta, Austin, Arlington, and Seattle, with a base salary of 155,400–210,200 USD annually.
