Description

Verbit is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for its Legal Tech engineering team to build high-scale, secure, multi-tenant services and AI-powered workflows for legal teams. The role combines backend engineering, cloud architecture, distributed microservices, event-driven systems, and AI/LLM development, and is a full-time remote position based in Ukraine. Candidates need at least seven years of production backend experience, strong Python and REST API skills, cloud experience, and the ability to integrate AI/LLM features into backend services.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 7+ years of hands-on backend development experience in a high-scale production environment
Strong proficiency with Python, REST APIs, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
Experience designing and building distributed, cloud-native microservices
Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing
Practical experience using AI-powered development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
Ability to integrate AI/LLM features into backend services, including prompting, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and fine-tuning
Preferred Qualifications: Practical experience with AI infrastructure, including RAG, agentic frameworks, Langfuse, and LiteLLM
Formal education in relevant fields such as computer science, mathematics, or electrical engineering
Experience with large-scale SaaS solutions
Ability to integrate AI/LLM features into backend services, including prompting, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and fine-tuning
