Sumex is hiring an experienced backend Java developer to design, implement, and maintain large-scale health IT applications in an agile, interdisciplinary product environment. The role includes influencing architecture and technology decisions, integrating new components, supporting requirements analysis and solution estimation, ensuring quality through automated testing, Clean Code, and reviews, using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, and coaching team members. Candidates need a Computer Science degree, 4–7 years of Java application experience, strong Java ecosystem and DevOps skills, German and English at C1 level, frontend familiarity, integration and API knowledge, CI/CD, and database experience.
