GitLab is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for its newly established Platform Readiness team to build and evolve internal developer tooling that automates platform readiness evaluation across Self-Managed, Dedicated, Dedicated for Government, and GitLab.com deployments. The role focuses on agentic workflows, requirements schemas, validation tooling, CI/CD integrations, cross-platform governance, quality feedback systems, and mentoring other engineers. Candidates need at least five years of software engineering experience, including two or more years in backend, platform, or developer-facing tooling, along with proficiency in TypeScript/Node, Python, or Golang and experience shipping developer-facing tools.
