Remote Talent LATAM is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to own the backend ecosystem supporting financial aid, campus card balances, and textbook rentals across approximately 1,200 university bookstores on Shopify. The role manages charge pipelines, production order triage, reconciliation, scheduled jobs, deployments, QA, and regression testing, with strong ownership of financial transactions and complex integrations. It requires 5+ years of PHP experience, including 3+ years in production Laravel, along with SQL, cloud, API, testing, and production-troubleshooting expertise. The position is full-time, independent contractor, 8 AM to 5 PM EST Monday through Friday, and pays $4,500 USD.
