Description
The Senior Backend Developer will join the Core Gateway team in Cyprus on an onsite employment contract with relocation support. The dual-track role maintains and extends a live Perl-based payment gateway while architecting and building a next-generation Python microservices platform. Responsibilities include production debugging, feature development, third-party API integrations, code reviews, CI/CD, containerization, cloud deployments, and product-focused engineering. The role requires 5+ years of backend engineering experience, strong Python expertise, Perl or willingness to work in Perl production code, API and webhook knowledge, event-driven architecture exposure, and strong English communication.
