Tucows Domains is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer for a remote position available to applicants based in Canada. The role is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure and scalable backend systems, APIs, databases, integrations, and data contracts. Responsibilities include technical direction, architecture discussions, initiative coordination, production incident response, code review, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and mentoring. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, at least six years of backend software engineering experience, and strong experience with Python, Go, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and production systems. The base salary range is $145,000 – $155,000 CAD for Canadian residents.
