Affirm is hiring a Backend Identity Engineer to design, build, and operate core customer identity and authentication services for B2C and B2B platforms. The role covers registration, login, authorization, account lifecycle, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, MFA, adaptive authentication, backend APIs in Python and Kotlin, CIAM integrations, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, monitoring, and security. Candidates need at least five years of backend software engineering experience, strong production experience in Python or a similar language, distributed-systems expertise, and hands-on CIAM platform integration experience. The position is remote-first with flexibility, offers USA base pay of $173,000–$255,000 depending on location, and includes health, dental, vision, equity, and other benefits.
