The role leads the design, implementation, and evolution of core distributed systems and data-plane services for large-scale cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include defining scalability, availability, fault tolerance, and performance requirements; optimizing high-throughput data paths; establishing observability and service-level objectives; conducting reliability and production testing; diagnosing and recovering incidents; automating infrastructure and change management; and applying security controls.
