Description

The City and County of San Francisco is hiring a Senior Technology Engineer for its BI Platform Change project, which migrates the Reports and Analytics solution to a Snowflake-based platform. The role combines functional and technical work, including business-process analysis, data modeling, SQL and dbt development, data extraction and transformation, testing, documentation, user support, and troubleshooting. The position requires an associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent credits, three years of systems experience, and familiarity with Snowflake, SQL, dbt, Python, data pipelines, and PeopleSoft applications. The permanent exempt appointment is limited to 36 months and pays $159,120–$200,226 annually.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Associate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a closely related field, or equivalent credits.
Required Previous Experiences: Three years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining system or platform components.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of information systems experience, including system analysis, business process design, application development, implementation, or IT project management.
Two years of hands-on experience administering and developing on Snowflake and Oracle databases.
Two years of expertise in advanced SQL and dbt for data transformation and modeling.
Hands-on experience with GitHub for code change management and collaboration.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse functionality, including masking, Snowpipe, SnowSQL, Snowpark, and optimization.
Strong Python skills with pandas and PySpark for data processing and automation.
Experience building and deploying data pipelines with orchestration tools.
