Description
The client is seeking a contractor Hardware Infrastructure Engineer to own and operate physical compute, storage, and power infrastructure across a medium-sized private data center and nine local MDF/IDF sites in the Puget Sound region. The role covers data center and site infrastructure, UPS and power systems, VMware vSphere/ESXi, server hardware, storage, backup, environmental monitoring, troubleshooting, change management, documentation, and on-call emergency response. It requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least six years of hands-on data center or enterprise infrastructure experience, and proficiency with VMware, HPE hardware, SAN/NAS, UPS, backup, and infrastructure automation. The contractor reports to the Senior IT Infrastructure Manager and participates in an on-call rotation.
