Google is hiring a Power Protection and Controls Engineer to support the physical design, research, commissioning, and operation of data center power and control systems. The role focuses on power quality, renewable energy and carbon-free storage technologies, protection and control engineering, and field testing, while serving as a technical lead for complex power system protection schemes. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience, five years of critical infrastructure and protection and control experience, and five years of HIL testing experience with RTDS, OPAL-RT, or similar platforms. The position is available in Dublin, Madrid, or London, with compensation of €84,000–€86,000 plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits in Spain, and €110,000–€112,000 plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits in Ireland.
