Description

CoStar Group is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms for its finance technology organization. The role focuses on migrating and transforming external financial data, normalizing heterogeneous sources, standardizing billing-system data, and supporting enterprise contracting and acquisition systems. Responsibilities include ETL/ELT development, data modeling, distributed processing, cloud data warehouses or lakehouses, pipeline orchestration, data quality, and CI/CD. The position is based in Richmond, Virginia, with Monday through Thursday office work and Friday work from home, and offers a base salary of $133,000 to $172,000 annually.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college or university
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of data engineering experience, including technical direction and team design influence
Experience building batch and incremental ingestion pipelines from heterogeneous external sources
Experience normalizing third-party schemas and performing source-to-target mapping, deduplication, and entity resolution
Production experience with distributed processing, cloud data warehouses or lakehouses, and pipeline orchestration
Experience implementing data quality, validation, reconciliation, version control, and CI/CD in a major cloud environment
Experience with agentic engineering and AI-assisted development tools
Preferred Qualifications: Production-scale Databricks or equivalent lakehouse expertise
Experience with modular transformation frameworks and version-controlled models
Experience with managed ingestion, replication, and streaming tools
Data quality, observability, cataloging, lineage, and governance tooling
Master data management, entity resolution, and record-linkage tooling
