Description

Risepoint is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Enterprise Data Platform team to build and operate governed data products supporting analytics, reporting, and AI/ML for more than 100 universities and colleges. The role owns scalable Databricks pipelines and Kimball-style dimensional models, uses dbt and Unity Catalog, optimizes performance and cost, operationalizes ML workflows with MLflow, and coordinates offshore engineering partners while reviewing deliverables and mentoring engineers.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 7+ years of data engineering experience on big data and cloud platforms
3+ years of hands-on Databricks experience with Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake, and jobs
Experience delivering Kimball or dimensional data models in a modern warehouse or lakehouse
Production experience with dbt models, tests, and snapshots
Experience using Unity Catalog for governance, access control, and lineage
Working knowledge of the ML lifecycle and MLOps
Experience translating requirements and coordinating or overseeing offshore and vendor engineering resources
Strong communication and stakeholder skills, including mentoring engineers and setting technical standards
Preferred Qualifications: Real-time or streaming experience with Structured Streaming, Kafka, or Azure Event Hubs
Familiarity with the Salesforce data model
Cost governance across multi-workspace Databricks environments
BI or visualization exposure with Power BI, Tableau, or Databricks dashboards
Containerization with Docker for reproducible workflows
Prior technical-lead, team-lead, or technical-management experience
Experience managing vendor or partner relationships or distributed and offshore delivery models
