The client is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable data platforms and ELT/ETL pipelines for life sciences and biotechnology research, clinical trial analytics, and machine learning workloads. The role involves ingesting and modeling structured and unstructured datasets, establishing data architecture and engineering standards, collaborating with scientists and machine learning engineers, and ensuring data quality, observability, security, and cost efficiency. Candidates need at least five years of data engineering or data-intensive software engineering experience, advanced Python and SQL skills, and experience with distributed data architectures and cloud environments. The position offers hybrid work in Indianapolis, Indiana, or fully remote work within the United States East Coast with occasional travel, along with a long-term independent contractor agreement.
