Ignite IT Hub is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to improve the U.S. Census Bureau's LLM Autocoder and evaluate its use across household surveys and demographic projects. The role leads analytical methods and experimental design for coding survey write-in responses, compares LLM and alternative coding approaches, assesses data readiness and taxonomies, and works with engineers and government subject matter experts to refine prompts, preprocessing, model configuration, and coding methods. The position requires a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 8 years of applied data science or statistical analysis experience including 3+ years with NLP, text classification, and hands-on LLM application, along with strong Python, SQL, experimental design, and model evaluation skills.
