PENN Entertainment is hiring a Senior Database Engineer to join its Database Engineering team and work cross-functionally on cloud-native database architecture, performance, availability, reliability, and durability. The role involves evaluating architectures, responding to database outages, managing replication and backups, designing schemas and queries, and building infrastructure as code with Terraform and GitOps across AWS and GCP. Candidates should have at least five years of hands-on database engineering experience, experience with Postgres, Kafka, ETLs, CDC, Kubernetes, Python or Go, and production support, with strong monitoring and architecture experience.
