Ruby Labs is hiring a Senior Desktop Engineer to own a cross-platform consumer desktop product from first commit through production. The role focuses on Electron architecture, native macOS and Windows integration, real-time system audio capture, accessibility and UI automation, code signing, notarization, entitlements, permission onboarding, CI/CD, auto-update, crash reporting, and release reliability. Candidates need at least six years of software engineering experience, including production-grade TypeScript and Node.js, plus three years shipping Electron applications to real users and hands-on native macOS development. The position is remote for applicants within approximately four hours of CET and offers unlimited paid time off, paid national holidays, company-provided MacBooks, and a flexible independent contractor agreement.
