Description
Microsoft is hiring a Senior Detection Portfolio Engineer to own an assigned threat-actor and partner detection portfolio, including onboarding, offboarding, tuning, coverage, and noise tradeoffs. The role partners with investigation and hunt teams to translate findings into production detections using Kusto, reviews and gates detection submissions, manages detection budgets, and leads detection workstream incident response. Candidates need a doctorate or a master's degree with three or more years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with four or more years of relevant experience, plus equivalent experience. The role requires Microsoft and customer or government security screening, and offers a base pay range of USD 119,800 to USD 234,700 per year in the United States, with higher ranges in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
