Onto Innovation is hiring a Senior Development Engineer – Motion Control & System Dynamics to develop, analyze, and optimize precision motion systems for semiconductor metrology and inspection equipment. The role focuses on machine and stage dynamics, frequency-domain analysis, system identification, PID and feedforward control, trajectory optimization, modal testing, calibration, vibration and disturbance-rejection analysis, and cross-functional system integration. Candidates need an MSc or PhD in a relevant engineering or applied physics field, at least 8 years of high-performance motion control experience, and the ability to travel internationally to customer sites at least 20% of the time. The position offers a base salary of $115,200 to $172,800 plus bonus and incentive opportunities, along with health, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefits.
