Description

Magyar Telekom is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer - Security to lead security practices across the DevOps lifecycle for cloud-native platforms and services. The role involves securing Kubernetes, Linux environments, infrastructure-as-code pipelines, CI/CD, secrets, RBAC, network policies, monitoring, and compliance; architecting secure infrastructure; mentoring engineers; and participating in on-call rotation. It is a full-time, flexible hybrid position in Budapest with three days from home and two days at the Telekom Campus, and requires a relevant university degree, fluent English, and at least five years of cloud-native DevOps and platform engineering experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: University degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Information Systems, or a comparable qualification
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of experience in cloud-native environments with a proven track record in DevOps and platform engineering
Preferred Qualifications: Open-source security contributions or active participation in the security community
Familiarity with GitOps and Argo CD
Kubernetes policy enforcement with OPA/Gatekeeper or Keyverno
Hands-on vulnerability management, threat modeling, and remediation
Experience developing APIs and Kubernetes operators
Familiarity with ISO 27001, GDPR, and NIS 2 compliance frameworks
Relevant security certifications such as CKS, CISSP, OSCP, or AWS Security Specialty
