Description

Blue Origin is hiring a senior DevOps software systems engineer in its Lunar Permanence business unit to build and maintain secure, reliable CI/CD infrastructure for avionics software deployed to development hardware, simulated environments, and hardware-in-the-loop systems. The role leads DevOps architecture, monitoring, automation, compliance audits, dashboards, pipeline performance analysis, mentoring, and safety-critical software process improvement, with extensive AWS, Kubernetes/Rancher, RKE2, Longhorn, Linux, Docker, GitLab, Python, infrastructure-as-code, networking, and observability experience required.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related coding-focused technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Required Previous Experiences: At least 8 years of professional experience.
Experience developing and owning continuous-delivery CI/CD pipelines.
Advanced AWS experience.
Experience managing on-premises and cloud hybrid infrastructure.
Hands-on Rancher and RKE2 experience, including Kubernetes cluster deployment, upgrades, hardening, provisioning, and governance.
Experience operating Longhorn distributed block storage, including backups, snapshots, and disaster recovery.
Experience with Linux, Docker, and continuous integration and delivery.
Python and GitLab experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Leadership of complex, multi-stakeholder DevOps projects.
Stakeholder and end-user requirements gathering.
Experience with Python and C/C++.
Configuration-as-code and Ansible experience.
Agile methodology experience.
Aerospace experience with safety-critical software or tool qualification.
Experience with NPR 7150.2D.
