Chronicle Books is hiring a Senior Editor for its Art & Entertainment Publishing Group to originate, acquire, and develop approximately 10–14 titles annually across art, design, entertainment, pop culture, visual nonfiction, media tie-ins, and innovative gift formats. The role focuses on building the Art list, identifying emerging cultural trends, evaluating acquisitions, negotiating deals, leading editorial processes, shaping titles for the marketplace, contributing to publishing-group strategy, and mentoring editorial staff. Candidates need 5–7 years of trade publishing experience, strong editorial and commercial judgment, industry connections, and the ability to negotiate contracts and manage budgets and schedules. The position is based in San Francisco on a hybrid schedule of at least three in-office days per week and pays $84,000–$96,500, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, profit share, and other benefits.
