Q-Block Computing is hiring a Senior Embedded Systems Architect in Ottawa to define and maintain the firmware and embedded systems architecture for a distributed, real-time control platform driving quantum hardware. The role establishes subsystem interfaces, communication protocols, hardware abstraction layers, timing and synchronization architectures, coding standards, testing frameworks, and development workflows, while leading firmware design reviews and mentoring embedded engineers. It requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field, at least 8 years of embedded systems experience including 3 years in architecture or technical leadership, expert C/C++ and ARM Cortex-M knowledge, and experience leading embedded engineering teams. The position offers a $130,000–$165,000 CAD annual salary, extended health, dental, and vision coverage, and life insurance.
