Description
Wabtec is hiring a Senior Mechanical Packaging Engineer to lead the mechanical packaging design of ruggedized electronic assemblies for locomotives and surface mining trucks. The role involves designing enclosures and panel architectures, selecting connectors and interconnects, performing thermal and structural analysis, preparing engineering documentation, leading design reviews, supporting supplier and production activities, and executing validation and qualification testing. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, at least 10 years of mechanical packaging experience, CAD and simulation expertise, and knowledge of ruggedized electronics requirements. The role is primarily office- and laboratory-based, may require up to 10% travel, and offers a base salary of $104,800–$149,300 plus potential performance bonuses and benefits.
