The Inpatient DRG Coding and Auditing Specialist reviews inpatient medical records, validates ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRG assignments, ensures compliance with IPPS and CMS guidelines, identifies documentation gaps, mentors coding staff, performs quality audits, analyzes findings, and prepares improvement reports. The role requires CCS and CIC certifications, at least two years of inpatient DRG coding or auditing experience, and knowledge of Microsoft Office, 3M software, and NLP tools.
