Description

Comcast is hiring a Senior Firmware Engineer (Engineer 4) to develop and maintain C/C++ firmware for next-generation technician test and measurement devices, including XM4, Blackbird, and BigBuddy initiatives. The role involves embedded Linux and Yocto distribution development, hardware/software integration, CI/CD improvements, API and microservice design, incident-mitigation tools, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware, cloud, mobile, quality, product, and user-experience teams. The position is based at the downtown Philadelphia Comcast Technology Center or the Englewood, Colorado area and is not approved for remote or virtual employment.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Previous Experiences: 7+ years developing embedded software and firmware for hardware-based products, devices, or systems.
Experience developing and debugging production firmware.
Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining embedded Linux systems.
Experience using the Yocto Project to create, customize, and maintain embedded Linux distributions.
Experience with embedded systems, hardware/software integration, device drivers, peripheral interfaces, and low-level troubleshooting.
Experience developing firmware for connected devices, IoT products, networking equipment, consumer electronics, test and measurement devices, or similar hardware platforms.
Experience with source control, automated builds, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
Experience collaborating across hardware, software, quality assurance, product, and cloud engineering teams.
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership initiatives.
