Shield AI is hiring a Senior Fluid Systems Engineer to develop and flight-test liquid cooling and thermal management systems for its X-BAT jet-engine VTOL military UAV. The role involves designing components and fluid systems, coordinating with suppliers, performing system and component analysis and sizing, and owning multiple aspects of the fluid systems. The engineer may travel to Shield AI’s Newton, Kansas test site to support flight-test operations. The position requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, at least five years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills, and proficiency with fluid-system analysis tools.
