Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Forward Deployed Engineering team to own end-to-end engagements with customer engineering organizations, helping them adopt Windows-based developer platforms and production workloads. The role covers discovery, solution design and implementation, validation, developer-platform expertise across WSL, containers, provisioning, toolchains, CI, and security controls, and closing the loop with product engineering. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field plus at least four years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience. The role requires Microsoft Cloud background screening and offers a base pay range of USD 119,800 to USD 234,700 per year in the United States, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
