Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Forward Deployed to own end-to-end engagements with customer engineering organizations, embedding with them to diagnose and fix developer workloads on Windows. The role covers discovery, solution design and implementation, validation, production artifacts, product feedback, and scalable adoption patterns across coding agents, agent runtimes, local and hybrid inference, WSL, containers, provisioning, toolchains, CI, and enterprise security. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field plus at least four years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience; production LLM and Windows developer-platform experience are preferred. The role requires Microsoft Cloud background checks and offers a base pay range of USD 119,800 to USD 234,700 per year in the United States, with higher ranges in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
