Wordware is hiring a full-time, in-person Backend Engineer in San Francisco to build and operate backend systems for its AI and software platform. The role covers agent runtime infrastructure, Cloudflare Workers and Fly.io deployment pipelines, real-time streaming and task queues, backend capabilities, tool integrations, observability, and incident response. Candidates need at least five years of production backend engineering experience, strong TypeScript skills, distributed systems knowledge, and experience shipping infrastructure to real users. The position offers a base salary of $180,000–$240,000 plus equity and benefits.
