Description
The role owns the search and discovery experience for members, covering indexing, relevance, ranking, query understanding, faceting, autocomplete, personalisation, and search performance. It involves designing and optimising search functionality with Algolia, Elasticsearch, or similar platforms; running experiments; maintaining data pipelines; leading mid-sized engineering initiatives; mentoring junior engineers; and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams. The position requires modern web technologies, production search experience, information-retrieval knowledge, AWS serverless experience, and strong communication and mentoring skills. It is a hybrid role based in Leicestershire or London (Holborn), with fully remote work unavailable.
