Description

DEPT® is hiring a Full Stack Rust Engineer for a three-month fixed-term salaried contract in Ontario, Canada, preferably Toronto. The role focuses on building and maintaining production Rust applications, including backend services, APIs, SQL, distributed systems, React frontend contributions, testing, Kubernetes deployment, observability, and production debugging. The engineer will also mentor junior engineers and communicate technical trade-offs. The position requires at least five years of production Rust experience and offers an anticipated hourly range of $75.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of experience creating and managing Rust applications in production environments
Experience with the async Rust ecosystem
Proficiency with common Rust web frameworks and libraries
Experience designing and building scalable backend services
Experience working with relational databases in production
Experience writing and maintaining Rust unit, integration, and property-based or fuzz tests
Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments
